Bible Reading: Isaiah 35:1-10
Taking time to reflect on the coming of Jesus is to literally grab hold of hope for the most discouraging and impossible situations in life. As you read Isaiah 35:1-10, he is prophesying of the Savior Jesus to Come. “He will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped; then shall the lame man leap like a deer and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.” (Isaiah 35:4-5).
This passage seems impossible if you don’t know about the life of Jesus. Who could possibly come and do these miracles? Are these just figures of speech? But as we see the life of Jesus, we know this is what HE DID. He took impossible situations; situations where there was no hope and no possible resolution, and he touched them. And when the Divine touches the broken, it becomes whole again.
Maybe there are broken areas in your life. Maybe there are dry and desert places in your heart and soul (vs 1). Cry out to Jesus today. Ask him to touch and heal you. Ask for him to pour his Spirit into your life so that “waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.” (Isaiah 35:6). Take your places of anxiety to him, and hear his words to you of “Be strong; fear not!” (Isaiah 35:4), and “Behold your God”. Just behold Him today in the mist of your impossible situation. Let go of everything else, to fully take hold of our Savior King who has come to do the impossible in our lives!
Question To Consider: What impossible area’s in my life do I need Jesus to touch?
